What I learned along the way
This is the beginning of my new blog. I am hoping to post often of things I have seen, new crafts I have learned. To post links to places that can help with these new crafts. I do get rather political and not always about the country I live in either which is Canada. Often I get involved online in debates (or sometimes arguments) about US politics or any other country if I have a opinion I want to share. Really I try not to get in arguments but sometimes it just happens lol.
I learned from my Mom how to knit though I still can't knit anything like she could. One of my sisters are just like Mom in that she can take any pattern and run with it. Me I like to learn different knitting stitches and fairly easy patterns but not sweaters and such :)
I also began to learn from my Mom how to crochet but again not the really difficult patterns though I am learning to read those better too. But find that pattern diagrams are easier for me then just written patterns there.
I used to do a lot of ceramics. Went to seminars to learn new techniques there, my favorite is dry brushing and intense coloring. In my basement are up to 80 already fired pieces waiting for me to decide what I am going to do with them. I may have to give some away.
Got caught up in adult coloring books too and have around 20 of them. They are my morning ritual, find it relaxing with my cup of coffee in the morning. Mostly love to color abstract patterns or mehndi patterns but have done some flowers and animals too.
Newest hobby is diamond painting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwY0T64G4qY This link shows how to do it. Now these kits are not available everywhere though I do believe it will catch on fast. Most often you hear people get their kits from China where they are cheaper. Here is two places you can get them,
https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=0&initiative_id=SB_20170511050623&SearchText=diamond+painting
https://www.wish.com/search/diamond%20painting
Then there is Diamond Dotz where they make their own kits for sale
http://diamonddotz.com/
I have found Diamond Dotz at Mary Maxim in Canada and USA. Also Herreschners carries them . I got Diamond Dotz Midnight cat to begin and it went like a breeze. I knew I was hooked when I went back to Mary Maxim and got Diamond Dotz Starry night by Van Gogh. It has 38 colors and I love doing it. Then I went on Amazon.ca and put in diamond painting and they have many there too but by sellers in China. I ordered 5 kits from one of them lol. So can wait up to 3 months for them to come but might have the Starry night done by then .
Well enough for now. Onward to meet the day
